Remi found herself in the midst of a Melanie/Abby joint interrogation. “So did he like the cookies?” Abby asked. Remi nodded. “Did he actually thank you or was he all brooding and what not?” Melanie asked, imitating Liam’s smug expression.
“He thanked me,” she replied, her mind clearly on something other than the current conversation. “You okay?” questioned Abby.
“Yeah, I’m just tired and want to go to bed.”
She headed towards the bedroom where she stretched out on the still made bed while looking at Liam’s name and number on her phone. Marveling at his odd persistence on contacting him, in regards to Charles. “What am I missing here?” she whispered. Liam was unusually overprotective, which felt so out of place. She continued to stare at his name, thinking about the conversation with Melanie about him being a Jekyll and a Hyde. Then she quickly shifted gears to him standing in his kitchen, wearing only boxers. In fact, he proudly stood there, self-assured. Though she suspected he probably worked out a lot, it was also obvious he hit the genetic lottery. He was blessed naturally with that face and those eyes. She sighed, thinking about those eyes and more especially his ripped body. She sighed again. He was a walking dream, she thought. Or nightmare. She just shook her head, chuckling. With so many things on her mind, adding Liam to the mix was probably not smart. She turned off the light and eventually fell asleep. – BEHIND THE MASK
